Portugal: Mandatory pre-departure testing to be dropped

Datum: 4. Februar 2022 08:42

According to media reports published on Thursday (3 February), it is expected that from next Wednesday (9 February), the presentation of the EU Digital COVID Certificate (proof of vaccination, recovery or a negative test result) will be sufficient to enter Portugal if arriving from EU countries. A negative test certificate is then only required if travellers fail to provide proof of recovery or vaccination.

Currently, vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals alike are required to provide a negative PCR or rapid antigen test result when entering the country.

Children under 12 years of age are exempt.
