Germany: Hamburg offers 2G option for restaurants, theatres and private parties as of 28 August
Datum: 25. August 2021 09:57
The Hamburg Senate is offering restaurateurs and organisers of cultural and private events a 2G option from 28 August. From then on, those who only allow vaccinated and recovered people access to their venues can waive many other restrictions such as the distance rules. In the catering trade, the curfew is waived with 2G. In addition, more participants are allowed at 2G events, and no restrictions apply to private parties, unless there is dancing, in which case a participant limit of 150 persons in indoor areas and 750 persons in outdoor areas applies, and masks are compulsory in indoor areas. There are also fewer restrictions for overnight stays, tourist city tours, trade fairs and commercial exhibitions, sporting events, in amusement arcades and at public festivals if only vaccinated and recovered persons are present. For a transitional period of six weeks, exceptions apply to children and adolescents under 18 years of age; they are also allowed to take part in such offers taking place according to the 2G rule without vaccination protection.
Operators and organisers must register online in advance if they want to use the 2G model and check the vaccination and convalescence certificates of the guests, otherwise fines may be imposed. However, events can still take place according to the 3G rule (i.e. also for those tested negative), in which case the restrictions that have applied so far remain in place.
