Germany: Almost all Corona measures to end on 20 March - transition period until 2 April
Datum: 18. März 2022 15:00
Today, Friday (18 March), the German Bundesrat approved the Infection Protection Act previously passed by the Bundestag. This provides for a far-reaching abolition of all Corona measures, especially the 2G and 3G regulations as of next Sunday (20 March). The obligation to wear a mask is also to be abolished in many areas; only in public transport, in aeroplanes, on long-distance trains as well as in nursing homes will mouth-nose protection still have to be worn. If there is a localised, threatening infection situation in a region, the Länder can again decide on stricter measures (so-called hotspot regulation). However, several federal states have already announced that they will make use of a transitional period until 2 April at the latest and maintain almost all currently applicable protective measures until then.
