As of 1 October 2022, according to an amendment to Germany's Infection Protection Act, only those individuals who have received three doses of an EU-approved vaccine against COVID-19 will be considered "fully vaccinated." Those who have already contracted COVID-19 will only need two doses of vaccine for full vaccine protection. A transition period will apply until 30 September 2022.
